Race day 3: Black-flag-day
Race day 3 at the Dutch Youth Regatta will probably be known as the Black-Flag-Day as both Optimist race courses had to do so many restarts that several times one blackboard wasn’t enough to host all of the sail numbers of those boats who where over the line: the optimist fleet had 67 black flag disqualifications.
There’s one more race day to go and the leaders of the class is still the same in the 29er, Cadet and Laser 4.7. In the Splash it’s Eva Asbeek Brusse leading the pack and in the Laser Radial Olin Houtman took over the first spot of the leader board but, the 1st and 2nd runner up are only one point behind. Our hero from yesterday dropped three spots in the overall leader board so he wants to make sure there’s at least one more race tomorrow to get a discard in his gold fleet races. Max Wallenberg from Switzerland is now holding on to that first place of the biggest fleet of the event.
Tomorrow we’ll know who has won this 16th edition of the Dutch Youth Regatta. For now there are still some sailors enjoying our youth DJ. See you all tomorrow, follow the live blog to get the updates about what’s happening on the race course!
