Day 3 at the Dutch Youth Regatta – Becalmed but not Bored
No wind means no racing – and that was the story of Day 3 at the Dutch Youth Regatta. Initially, a three-hour postponement was announced for all fleets as we waited hopefully for a breeze to fill in. But by early afternoon, the decision was made: no racing today.

Despite the lack of sailing, there was no shortage of activity. Sailors found creative ways to enjoy the downtime — from kicking a football around and relaxing with friends, to exploring everything the race village had to offer.
The lively race village featured food trucks, stalls with fun nautical gear, and interactive booths. The KNRM (Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution) was on site with a stand, and nature reserve Oosterschelde provided insights into the wettest national park in the Netherlands — a perfect mix of learning and fun.
Tomorrow is our final day, and the forecast looks more promising. We’ll do our best to get a few great races in for all fleets to wrap up the regatta on a high note!
